Rare book. "Rules of Golf" by Charles Crombie, Perrier Edition (1905)

The Perrier edition, with Perrier advertising printed on the reverse of each page. Classic Edwardian golf satire, and one of the most desirable early illustrated golf books.

The original sales insert remains present, noting that individual lithographs could be ordered separately. That insert is often missing, so its survival here adds context and appeal.

Condition:

Cover generally good for age. Rear cover shows a water mark. Spine would benefit from reinforcing. Majority of pages remain attached to the spine, with a few loose leaves at the back. A couple of small edge tears, none affecting the lithographs themselves. Plates are clean and present well.

Copies of this title are frequently broken up and the individual lithographs sold separately — often achieving $75–$180 per plate  (24 individual lithographs)— but this example remains largely intact and is well worth preserving as a complete work.
