These sculptural swivel chairs draw inspiration from Verner Panton’s 1958 “Cone Chair,” an icon of Danish modernism celebrated for its avant-garde silhouette and playful geometry. First created for a restaurant in Odense, Denmark, the design soon became a symbol of futuristic elegance throughout the 1960s.

This pair captures the same tapered cone form, tripod swivel base and circular seat cushion that defined Panton’s original. While unmarked, the proportions, metalwork and upholstery style suggest high-quality mid-century manufacture — likely an Australian or European workshop producing licensed or period-inspired versions in the 1960s–70s.

Pairs surviving in matching condition are uncommon; many were split or re-upholstered long ago.
