c.1960s–70s Danish Deluxe “Scissor Chairs” — Pair (Original Leather)
A pair of mid-century lounge chairs by Danish Deluxe, Melbourne’s premier furniture maker of the 1960s–70s. Often referred to as Scissor Chairs and styled in the spirit of Ingmar Relling’s famous Siesta Chair, these pieces showcase the best of Australian modernist craftsmanship — sculptural laminated bentwood frames paired with supple, original leather cushions.
The chairs retain their original plush leather, now showing a beautifully even natural patina with no cracks or splits. The leather has been carefully re-nourished to preserve softness and longevity. Frames remain in excellent original condition, reflecting Danish Deluxe’s hallmark precision joinery, balance, and beautifully resolved lines.
