A rare framed set from the estate of Australian champion cyclist Gordon Johnson, combining an original signed 1969 letter from Gough Whitlam with a period photograph of Johnson and fellow cyclists meeting Whitlam trackside. The letter is dated 14 November 1969 on official Opposition letterhead and carries Whitlam’s clear signature.

The black-and-white photograph shows Johnson and other riders in conversation with Whitlam beside a tandem bicycle, capturing an uncommon intersection of Australian sporting and political history.

Condition
Letter crisp and legible with clear Whitlam signature. Photograph shows light toning consistent with age. Frame in good vintage condition with minor marks. Backing and mounts intact. Presents cleanly and ready to display.
