Description
An early 20th-century copper coffee percolator of the well-known Universal No. 006 type, attributed to Landers, Frary & Clark, one of the major American manufacturers of kitchen and café equipment in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Standing 31.5 cm high, this form was widely used in domestic dining rooms, boarding houses and cafés, where coffee was brewed in quantity and served slowly — long before machines tried to do it all in under thirty seconds.
The copper body is paired with a brass tap and raised open metal stand, giving the piece a balanced, utilitarian presence. It reads immediately as functional equipment rather than decoration, which is exactly what makes it appealing today.
