35th International Motor Show, Melbourne (1969) — Original Australian Poster
Rare Large-format poster for the 35th International Motor Show at the Royal Exhibition Buildings, Melbourne, held 6–15 March 1969. Pop-Art blocks feature a veteran car, a formula racer and late-’60s production metal. The period artwork captures the energy of Australia’s car-culture peak and the era that produced local and international concept cars such as the Holden Hurricane.
A genuine late-1960s promotional design tied to Melbourne’s long-running motor show at the Royal Exhibition Buildings.
Condition
Top edge shows some paper loss, roughness with small tears and nicks, particularly at the left corner, and light grime to the margin. Bottom edge has a crease and small paper loss near the “EXHIBITION BUILDINGS” text. Good surface colour with no fold lines but general handling waves. Reverse shows even ageing/toning with no tape or linen-backing. Fair vintage condition overall; displays well and would benefit from linen-backing to stabilise the edges.
