Toohey’s Oatmeal Stout (c.1930s) — Original Australian Lithographic Advertising Poster by Walter Jardine (signed)

A beautifully designed and historically significant Australian beer advertisement illustrated by Walter Jardine for Toohey’s Oatmeal Stout. The composition features a bottle and glass arranged on a classic table setting alongside the slogan “Here’s to ’ee — In the Stout Bottle!”. Jardine’s Art Deco realism and refined product illustration style defined Australian commercial advertising in the 1930s and 1940s, and this poster is a strong example of his work at the height of his career.

Jardine’s distinct typography, controlled lighting and polished realism made him one of the most sought-after commercial artists of his era, producing advertising art for Toohey’s, Arnott’s, Lux and many major national brands.

Condition
Even age toning across the paper, no major tears or creases visible under glass. Colours bright with excellent retention, especially in the bottle and lettering. Period aluminium frame with warm brown mat board; light moisture marks on the rear backing paper only. Glass clean and secure. Overall very good condition for its age.
