🛩️ KLM “De Vliegende Hollander” Vintage Airline Poster — Designed by Jan Wijga
A modern reprint of a striking Dutch airline poster featuring the classic KLM branding. Titled “De Vliegende Hollander – Eens Legende, thans Werkelijkheid” (“The Flying Dutchman – Once a Legend, Now Reality”), the artwork pairs a 17th-century sailing ship with a modern KLM aircraft overhead. Illustrated by Jan Wijga, one of the Netherlands’ leading aviation artists of the interwar period.
The design originally promoted KLM’s long-haul services to the Dutch East Indies and reflects early European aviation optimism and national branding.
